Icelandic Sheep are a very old breed. They are exceptionally hardy and thrifty animals.
Excellent mums, they need little to no intervention when lambing. More often than not, you will simply head into the barn or pasture to find a happy healthy baby (or more often, babies) up and about, already dried off and fed by mum.
Their smaller stature makes them ideal for small / hobby farms. They produce lovely, mild meat, wool and milk.
