THE LANGFORD FAMILY
Coghlan Cottage Family Farm is run by husband and wife team, Jeff and Stacey Langford, supervised by two little kids.
Prior to our move to Langley, we had an urban farm at our home in East Vancouver, where we raised veggies, chicken, eggs and quail. You can see some photos of our old urban farm here.
Jeff grew up a farm boy, and I was born a city girl, but we both share a love of good food grown and prepared with love and attention.
Jeff and I are both certified Organic Master Gardeners and are passionately committed to redefining the possibility of what farming can be. Innovation, sustainability, permaculture and deep-organic methods, small-scale production, seed-security and protection of endangered heirloom varieties are at the centre of our farming practice.
We are active advocates for sustainable, sane food and farming.
Stacey has been a guest speaker on CBC Radio's The Coast and was featured in CBC Radio Series The Invisible Hand : Gold vs. Chickens. She was also recently interviewed for a documentary by Fire and Light Media From Black Thumb to Green Fingers: Homegrown Food In Urban Spaces. Stacey has authored a blog on food-security, homesteading, and Slow Food since 2009. You can read her rants, raves and recipes on her blog, The Slow Foods Mama.
